Who is Mental Ascend for?
We primarily support young athletes and elite performers who want to compete with greater
mental readiness and stability. Some services are also available to teams, clubs and
coaches.
What can you help me with?
Our work may focus on confidence, concentration, motivation, competition pressure,
recovering
from mistakes or managing performance anxiety. The aim is to help you perform with
greater
awareness and stability.
Do I need to have a serious problem to benefit from coaching?
No. Coaching can also help you build confidence, manage pressure more effectively or
prepare
more intentionally for upcoming challenges.
What is the difference between coaching, mentoring and sports psychology?
Coaching uses questions and exercises to help you find your own goals and solutions.
Mentoring can also draw on relevant first-hand sporting experience and practical
perspectives. For deeper difficulties or significant competition anxiety, support from a
sports psychologist may be more suitable.
How are parents involved?
A parent's role can be important, especially when the athlete is under 18, so we agree on
the
boundaries together at the start. The athlete's own goals and motivation remain central
to
the work.
Are conversations confidential?
We treat personal information shared in sessions confidentially. For under-18 athletes,
we
agree in advance what general feedback may be shared with a parent.
Are sessions online or in person?
Our programmes are primarily online, making it easier to fit sessions around training,
competitions and study. In-person meetings may also be possible by arrangement.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your goals and current situation. A specific challenge may be addressed
over
a few sessions, while longer-term development can take several months.
Do you work with teams, coaches and clubs?
Yes. We can tailor team sessions, workshops and consultations to your needs, including
mental
preparation, communication, cohesion and performing under pressure.
What if the athlete is not ready to ask for help?
Coaching works best when the athlete experiences the process, at least partly, as their
own
choice. A parent can raise the possibility without forcing it; a free consultation lets
the
athlete learn about the process with no obligation.
How do I know which kind of support is right for me?
You do not need to decide in advance whether you need coaching, mentoring or another kind
of
support. Book a free 20-minute consultation and we will discuss your goals and help
identify
a suitable option.
What happens during the free 20-minute consultation?
We learn about your situation, discuss your goals and explore what kind of support might
suit
you. The consultation does not commit you to buying a programme.
